Fees & Rebates
The recommended fee set by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) for a standard 45-60 minute psychology consultation is A$260.00 (FY 20/21), however, a psychologist is able to alter this fee at their own discretion. Psychology fees cover your session time, brief additional phone consultations, referral calls, consultation with referring doctors, school staff and other health professionals as well as general correspondence. Individual psychology sessions at Integrated Kids are generally 50 minutes in duration and billed at A$220.00 for the initial session and A$190.00 per session thereafter. This represents a substantial reduction in order to keep fees at a more reasonable level for parents.
If you are experiencing financial distress or are on a pension or Health Care Card, please call to discuss your circumstances. We offer a limited number of reduced fee appointments per month.
Referrals & Rebates
You do not require a referral to receive psychological services and you may make an appointment as a private client for you or your child without one. If you do have a referral from your doctor (GP), Paediatrician or Psychiatrist you may be able to receive a rebate for services under Medicare. Current rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) are A$84.80 per session. The number of sessions you are eligible for is determined by your referring practitioner.
If you do require a referral, please ensure you have arranged this prior to your first appointment.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, please enquire with your provider directly about rebates for psychological services as they vary according to different insurers and coverage levels.
Credit card details will be requested by our receptionist when you make your first appointment and payments made after your consultation. Medicare rebates are processed (if applicable) at the time of your payment and funds deposited into your account nominated with Medicare with 1-2 days.
An invoice will be issued for all charged services and an receipt emailed for your records.
Please note a psychological consultation does not attract GST.
